The Paseo Arts Association has announced the music and performance lineup for the 2013 Paseo Arts Festival, set for May 25-27 in the historic Paseo Arts District.
Musicians and other performers featured at the festival will perform on one of two stages: the North Stage—near Picasso Café—or the South Stage—in the middle of Paseo Drive, near NW 28 Street.

See the exhibit “Velvet Memes: New Work by Trent Lawson” at a.k.a. gallery, 3001 Paseo in the Paseo Arts District.
The gallery is noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.
The Oklahoma City specializes in kitschy and witty velvet paintings that mingle pop culture and art history. They are definitely worth seeing while the exhibit is on view through May 27.

In keeping with nearly three decades of tradition, the Paseo Arts Association is proud to once again name one of its most well-loved artists as the designer for this year’s Paseo Arts Festival poster. This year’s artist is Gayle Curry.
The design is a stylized interpretation of the buildings in the Paseo Arts District, depicted in a lively color scheme that echoes the vibrancy of the art community itself.
“It really captures the personality of all of the different buildings,” says PAA Executive Director Jennifer Barron in a news release. …

Oklahoma City artist Linda Hiller’s National Park series of oil paintings depicting great American landscapes such as the Grand Canyon and Alaska’s Denali National Park done in both traditional and contemporary styles is on view through March 30 at The Summer Wine Art Gallery, 2928 B Paseo.
Hiller, the gallery’s co-owner, will demonstrate her technique from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the gallery. Refreshments will be served; the public is welcome.

“Ultra Blue” by Mary Ann Strandell

For her new exhibit “Orient Shift,” artist Mary Ann Strandell observes storied ancient and modern culture through the mediation of handmade paintings and through the lens of technology with lenticular prints. This month, Paseo Originals Art Gallery, 2920 Paseo, is hosting a kaleidoscopic exhibition of artwork by represented gallery artists that as a whole demonstrate an extreme diversity of style interest and artistic approach.
