Is there anything better than two psychedelic Oklahoma City bands swapping songs in a flurry of creativity?

Edmond punk-rock-pop duo Skating Polly – stepsisters Kelli Mayo, 13, and Peyton Bighorse, 17 – released their sophomore album “Lost Wonderfuls” Tuesday on iTunes.
The album is due out April 16 on CD from the SQE label, reports The Oklahoman Entertainment Editor Gene Triplett.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus will roll into the Oklahoma City metro Monday-Feb. 22 for a series of activities at the University of Central Oklahoma’s Edmond campus and the university’s Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) in Bricktown.

Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips will play a free hometown show Oct. 26 at the Zoo Amphitheatre, the band and venue have announced.
The show, dubbed “Freak Night,” is touted as “the largest costume party in the Midwest.” New Fumes and Stardeath and White Dwarfs will share the bill with the Lips.

Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips released today their album “The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends” in CD and digital formats.
The album, previously available only on limited edition vinyl as a Record Store Day release, features the Lips collaborating with such artists as Yoko Ono, Nick Cave, Bon Iver, Ke$ha and others.
