American Idols, Celtic Women this Week in Tulsa

It’s the start of a new week…and not just any week – it’s Shark Week! Anyone else excited about this? Well, if not, here’s a list of some super cool events happening around Tulsa.

Cain’s Ballroom is the place to be with great shows all week long including: Monte Montgomery with Travis Kidd on Wednesday night, the 2nd Annual Urban Tulsa Music Awards on Thursday and Thomas Martinez on Saturday. Tickets for all events are available online.

The Celtic Women are at the BOK Center this Friday night and tickets are available for $35. And don’t miss American Idols Live, also at the BOK Center, on Saturday. Tickets for this concert are only $38.50 and can be purchased online or at the box office.

Take the kids out to the Tulsa Drillers games Friday through Sunday at ONEOK Field. Special events include Fireworks Friday and FunDay Sunday.

Other events to check out include The Game at Million Dollar Elm Casino, the Vintage Tulsa Show on Saturday and Sunday at the Spiritbank Event Center, Gooding at the Flytrap Music Hall and the Gatesway Balloon Festival.

Easton Corbin, Sports this Week in Tulsa

It’s hard to believe that July is nearly over. But don’t fret – plenty of  summertime events happening this week in the Tulsa area!

The Tulsa Drillers are home now through Thursday when they host the Arkansas Naturals. Don’t miss any of the fun, including $2 Tuesday, Remember Whensday and Thirsty Thursday.

If you’re looking to improve the interior or exterior of your home, don’t miss the Home and Garden Expo of Oklahoma this Friday through Sunday at  Expo Square’s QuikTrip Center. Also at Expo Square this weekend is the R.K. Gun and Knife Show.

Don’t miss up-and-coming country singer Easton Corbin at Cain’s Ballroom on Thursday. Tickets are just $16. And this Friday and Saturday is the first ever Free Tulsa Music Festival. The festival will be held at Cain’s Ballroom, Crystal Pistol and Sound Pony.

Other sporting events to check out include Tulsa Shock basketball on Friday at the BOK Center and the Tulsa Talons travel down the turnpike to Oklahoma City to face the Yard Dawgz on Friday night.

Other events you need to add to your calendar include Summer Films on the Lawn at the Philbrook Museum, Rhythm on the River and the Green Country Cowboys of Color Rodeo.

Jeff Dunham, Shock Basketball in Tulsa this Week

If you know me you know I love summer. And if you don’t know me, well, I just told you that I love summer. One main reason I do is because there is no lack of activities any given week…and this week is no exception. Check it out!

There are a lot of events at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center this week including Kiss Me, Kate this Wednesday through Sunday and The Visit all weekend long. Also, don’t miss 1964 which is known as the best Beatles tribute in the world this Friday night. Tickets for all shows can be purchased online or at the box office.

Get your laughs this Thursday night when comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham comes to the BOK Center. Tickets are still available for just $43.50. Also, the Tulsa Shock will be at the BOK Center this Friday and Sunday and tickets start at $10.

Don’t miss Eisley this Friday or the Bleu Edmondson Band this Sunday, both at Cain’s Ballroom and check out the XFL “Super Fights” on Friday night at the Spiritbank Event Center for just $30.

Also, don’t miss A Man’s Life and Loves at the Tulsa Ballet Theatre and events at Expo Square include the Tulsa Area Pony Show and The Alliday Show on Saturday.

Hawk Nelson, Widespread Panic this Week in Tulsa

One thing I love about spring is there’s never a lack of events and fun things to do. Check out these things happening around the Tulsa area this week:

This Tuesday night, go see NEEDTOBREATHE with Stephen Kellogg & Seabird at Cain’s Ballroom for $18 or Jeff Beck at the Brady Theatre for $37.50.  Also, don’t miss Blue October this Thursday night at Cain’s Ballroom, Hawk Nelson and Group 1 Crew at the The Otherside Event Center and Coheed and Cambria this Friday at Cain’s Ballroom.

Little Women, one of the most beloved American novels of all time, will be performed this Friday through Sunday at the Tulsa Spotlight Theatre. Also, go see Widespread Panic this Saturday at the BOK Center or Lisa Lampanelli at the Tulsa Convention Center also on Saturday.

Step back in time to days of old this weekend at the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival, held at the Castle of Muskogee. Delight your taste buds with the wonderful and unique food and browse through more than 100 handcrafted booths all with one of a kind items.

Live Music, Drillers Baseball this Week in Tulsa

There’s a lot going on this week in and around Tulsa!

Don’t miss live music all week long at Cain’s Ballroom, including Rogue Wave on Wednesday, The Dead Weather on Thursday and Les Claypool on Friday. Tickets for all events are available online or at the door.

Championship Bull Riding hits up the Spiritbank Event Center this Friday and Saturday and Nickelback will be at the BOK Center this Saturday. 

Earth Day is this Thursday and there are a lot of events to help celebrate including the 12th Annual EnviroExpo in Downtown Tulsa.

Also, the Tulsa Drillers are home Thursday through Sunday and host the Springfield Cardinals at ONEOK Field and Hot Club of Cowtown is this Friday at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

Okay, I know Norman isn’t very close to Tulsa – but you won’t want to miss the 3rd Annual Norman Music Festival this Saturday and Sunday. Visit wimgo.com/normanmusicfestival for a list of all performers, including The Dirty Projectors, Jabee, Edan, The Sword and many others.

Arctic Monkeys, Jason Boland in Tulsa this Week

Tulsa is happening this week! Check out these (and many more) events:

Bon Jovi is at the BOK Center on Tuesday night and tickets are still available online or at the Box Office. Also, check out the Arctic Monkeys at Cain’s Ballroom, also on Tuesday.

The Rock and Worship Roadshow, featuring artists like Mercy Me, the David Crowder Band, and many others, will be this Saturday at the BOK Center. Admission is only $10 at the door.

Other events you won’t want to miss include Jennifer Knapp and Derek Webb this Thursday and Jason Boland & The Stragglers this Friday, both at Cain’s Ballroom, the Vintage Tulsa Show this Saturday & Sunday at Spiritbank Event Center, Singfest 2010 Thursday through Saturday at the Mabee Center, and Alison Brown on Saturday at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

Also, even though this event is months away, you need to get tickets now for the Rock N America Festival this July at the Zoo Amp. Tickets are just $100 for all three days of the festival and will go fast – so get your tickets now!

Tim McGraw, Harlem Globetrotters in Tulsa this Weekend

The weekend is quickly approaching, so it’s time to quit procrastinating and plan your activities. Don’t worry, I’ll help.

Reckless Kelly will be at the incomparable Cain’s Ballroom on Thursday and tickets are just $19. Also, hunky country star Tim McGraw, along with up-and-coming trio Lady Antebellum, will be at the BOK Center Thursday as well and tickets start at just $35.50.

Go see everyone’s favorite basketball team, the Harlem Globetrotters, this Friday at the BOK Center. With tickets starting at just $20, the entire family can go to the game. Drillers baseball starts this Thursday at ONEOK Field and don’t miss the Kids Closet Connection Consignment Sale (try saying that three times fast) Thursday through Saturday at the Convention Center.

Other events to check out include the Springfest Garden Market and Festival on Friday, the Tulsa Arms Show on Saturday, free Saturday admission to the Philbrook Museum and the Tulsa Heart Walk, also on Saturday.

Sesame Street, Randy Houser in Tulsa this Week

Spring is officially here and there are a lot of events for you to enjoy this week!

If you’re like me, you have a favorite Sesame Street character and he (or she) was a big part of your childhood. Well, this is the perfect chance for you and the kids to see these characters in person this week when Sesame Street Live comes to the BOK Center this Thursday through Sunday. Tickets start at just $15 and are available online or at the box office.

Perhaps you want a bit of theater and culture this week. Look no further than the Tulsa Performing Arts Center which has great shows all week including The Elders, Oh-Daddy O, the Tulsa Symphony’s Music of France and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Tickets for all of these shows are available online.

Expo Square is the place to be this weekend for events like the 2010 AKC Nationals, the Sears Powerama and the Green Country RV and Outdoor Show. And go cheer on the Tulsa 66ers this Thursday, Friday and Sunday at the Tulsa Convention Center.

Other events to check out include Acquire the Fire at the Mabee Center this Friday and Saturday, live music at Cain’s Ballroom on Friday night and Randy Houser on Saturday night and go see The Zuit Suits on Friday night at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame.

Norah Jones, Alice in Wonderland in Tulsa this Week

March is finally here and there are a lot of activities to get you out of the house this week!

Go see BoomBox this Thursday night at Cain’s Ballroom or the Jagermeister Music Tour with Eric Church and Josh Thompson Sunday at Cain’s Ballroom. Also, on Friday night, Grammy-winner Norah Jones will be at Brady Theater.  

To get you ready for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, the Tulsa spotlight theater will feature their production all weekend long and tickets are just $5. But if you’re not in the mood for the theater, check out March Mania at Expo Square’s Ford Truck Arena starting this Thursday or the X-treme Fighting League this Saturday night at Spiritbank Event Center. Tickets for the bout, which starts at 8 p.m., are just $25. 

Here’s one for all the parents out there – don’t miss the 11th annual Baby Fest and Family Expo this weekend at Expo Square. The event is free and open to the public and showcases products and services for families with children ages 12 and younger. 

Get your sports fix with the Tulsa 66ers games on Friday and Sunday at the Tulsa Convention Center or the Tulsa Oilers this Friday & Saturday at the BOK Center.

Things to do this weekend in the Tulsa area

There’s live music all weekend long in the Tulsa area, including shows at the Hard Rock hotel and casino and at Cain’s Ballroom. Search “live music” at wimgo to find all the performances. Also, check out the Monster Jam this Friday and Saturday night at the BOK Center.

Saturday is full of events including the Vintage Tulsa Show and Sale at the Spiritbank Event Center and the Oklahoma Wedding Show at Expo Square. Also, the Philbrook Museum offers free admission this Saturday where you can enjoy the art and spend time together with your family. 

If you need a sports fix, cheer on the Oklahoma State Cowboys as they host Texas Tech this Saturday and head down to Norman for Men’s Bedlam basketball on Monday at the Lloyd Noble Center.
