John Mayer, Oklahoma Horror Fest this Week in Tulsa

As I said in my other post…I’m super excited this week because college football kicks off! I’m a huge fan and I’ll be wearing my crimson and cream on Saturday. But for those of you that aren’t as dedicated as I am, here’s a list of other events you might want to check out.

If you haven’t been to a Drillers game this season, you still have a few chances to cheer them on. The team is home at ONEOK Field now through Friday and tickets start at just $5. Also, check out The August Wilson Project at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center this Thursday, country singer Tanya Tucker at River Spirit Casino and STS9 and Ghostland Observatory at the River Parks Amphitheater this Friday night.

Don’t miss John Mayer at the BOK Center this Friday night with Owl City. Tickets for the concert are still available and start at $37. Also, The Kottonmouth Kings and Samantha Crain are both at Cain’s Ballroom this week. Tickets for these shows are $26 and $13 and are available online.

Horror is heading to Tulsa this Labor Day weekend with the Oklahoma Horror Film Festival & Convention. Don’t miss the spook-fest this Friday through Sunday at Spirit Bank Event Center.

And, for the pièce de résistance: College Football! Cheer on the Sooners when they host Utah State in Norman or the Cowboys in Stillwater as they take on the Washington State Cougars.

Have fun and enjoy the remainder of summer!

College Football, Labor Day Weekend Activities

I am beyond excited. College football starts this week! Anyone else as excited as I am? Moving on… if you’re not a football fan there are plenty of other events you won’t want to miss this week. Check it out and let me know what you’ve got planned.

Okay, there’s still time to catch an Oklahoma City RedHawks game this season at the Bricktown Ballpark. The team is home now through Monday, September 6 and tickets start at just $7. Can’t beat that for affordable family fun!

Seems every week has a good dose of live music and this week is no exception. Don’t miss Fireworks, The Swellers, Man Overboard and others at the Conservatory on Wednesday, The Non at Opolis in Norman, Samantha Crain at The Blue Door, Paul Eason and Whiskey Roadshow at the Wormy Dog Saloon and Smokey Robinson at Lucky Star Casino.

If you want to unwind after a long day at the office, be sure to go to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art on Thursday evenings for Cocktails on the Skyline Roof Terrace. Also, September is College Month at the OKC Museum of Art where college students get free admission all month long.

The 32nd Annual Arts Festival Oklahoma is this Saturday through Monday at Oklahoma City Community College. Here you can view and purchase original artwork and handicrafts, listen to live performances, and sample a diverse selection of foods. Another event for your calendar is the Buchanan Vintage Flea Market at State Fair Park.

It’s Labor Day weekend! Hope you get to enjoy some time off. A lot of museums are offering free admission to military and family this weekend, including the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

And for the Grand Finale: COLLEGE FOOTBALL! This Saturday, cheer on the Sooners when they host Utah State in Norman or the Cowboys in Stillwater as they take on the Washington State Cougars.

Have fun!

Styx, Big 12 Softball in OKC this Week

First of all I just want to say I hope and your family were safe in yesterdays crazy, stormy weather. Oklahoma weather is wild!

Now, I hope the weather for the rest of the week is nice so you can enjoy some or all of these events happening around Oklahoma City.

The 6th Annual Wormy Dog Spring Jam is this Saturday night with bands No Justice, Reckless Kelly and Mama Sweet. Tickets are just $10 and are available online or at the door.

Check out the Bikes and Bricks Street party this Saturday in Bricktown. This event is free and open to the public and features lots of great live music, food and biker activities.

Go see Top Girls or The Three B’s at the Civic Center Music Hall this Friday or Saturday and Styx along with Foreigner and Kansas will be at the Zoo Amphitheater this Friday night. Tickets for all of these events are available online or at the door.

Check out ARTini this Saturday at the Oklahoma City Famer’s Market. This fundraising event for Allied Arts includes live music, an art auction and a martini tasting. For your chance to win 2 tickets to the event, comment here.

Bedlam Baseball, Hank Williams Jr. in Tulsa this Week

Lots to do this week in Tulsa….I hope you’re ready!

Legendary musician Hank Williams Jr. (aka Bocephus) will be at the BOK Center this Friday night. Tickets are just $27 to see Williams, along with Jamey Johnson, and their Rowdy Friends Tour. Sounds like a good time to me!

At first the name of this event is a major turn off…you’ll see why. But after further research I learned that “Twelve Angry Men” is a drama about a jury that’s forced to reconsider its initial decision because of one dissenter who sows a seed of doubt. I have to admit it doesn’t sound half bad! Also, check out Buffalo Gallery also at the Performing Arts Center this Thursday through Saturday.

Cage the Elephant will be at Cain’s Ballroom this Saturday and Bullet for My Valentine hits up Cain’s the following night. Tickets for both shows are available online or at the door.

Also, if you own a hog, you won’t want to miss the Handlebars and Hot Rods event at the Spiritbank Event Center on Friday and Saturday.

Do you bleed orange? Or crimson? Cheer on your favorite team this Friday at ONEOK field when the Cowboys and the Sooners face each other for Bedlam Baseball! BOOMER!

Enjoy your week & happy Cinco de Mayo!

Cirque Dreams, Bedlam Baseball in OKC this Week

May is finally here and it brings with it food, fun and fantasy. Have a great week and let me know what events you are going to attend.

This action packed show is set in a fantastical cityscape of dimension and special effects and tickets start at just $16 – what a great Mother’s Day gift!

It’s time to party this Wednesday to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! There are a lot of parties to check out around the city, but a couple you won’t want to miss include the Eat Drink Fiesta at Iguana Mexican Grill and the Cinco de Mayo party at Citywalk in Bricktown.

This Friday is the first outdoor concert of the summer at the Zoo Amphitheater and it’s a doozy. KATTFEST, featuring bands Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, and Puddle of Mudd, is this Friday night and tickets can be purchased online starting at just $42.

If you know me well you know I’m an OU Sooner fan – so I can’t wait to cheer on the guys this weeked at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark for some Bedlam Baseball! Tickets are available online. Also, cheer on everyone’s favorite arena football team, the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz, when they host Bossier-Shreveport this Saturday at the Cox Convention Center.
