Kristin Chenoweth’s “GCB” canceled

ABC has canceled the soapy primetime drama “GCB,” starring Oklahoma native Kristin Chenoweth, Leslie Bibb and Annie Potts, after just one season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “GCB” was among the four freshman shows ABC opted to cancel. The others were “Pan Am,” “The River” and “Missing.”

Based on Kim Gatlin’s novel “Good Christian Bitches” and titled “Good Christian Belle” before settling on the title “GCB,” the show debuted to modest returns in March and failed to make the anticipated splash required to …

Video: Local rap group The Lost Boys record Oklahoma City Thunder tribute song “Blue and Orange”

The Oklahoman sportswriter Jenni Carlson spoke with local rap group The Lost Boys about “Blue and Orange,” their musical tribute to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This NewsOK video was filmed last week before we knew for sure who the Thunder would be playing in the second round of their playoff run, but The Lost Boys predicted the hometown squad would take on the Los Angeles Lakers and, of course, win.

TULSA- During the first eight months of performances at The Joint, few were anticipated more than the performances by Daryl Hall and John Oates and Heart. Due to overwhelming demand, both sets of performers will return to the music venue inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

Daryl Hall and John Oates return to The Joint on Sept. 12, with tickets starting at $60. Heart returns Sept. 15, with tickets starting at $45.

Wednesday Video Spotlight: JD McPherson to play “Conan” June 6

Tulsa-area singer-songwriter JD McPherson will play on “Conan” on June 6, he announced on his official Facebook page. Conan O’Brien’s late-night show airs at 10 p.m. weekdays on TBS.

Named as an “artist you should know” in 2011 by NPR, McPherson made his Rounder Records debut last month with the release of “Signs and Signifiers,” “a rockin’, bluesy, forward-thinking album that subtly breaks the conventions of most vintage rock projects.” (All Music Guide).

Oklahoma country music superstar Carrie Underwood performed a mini-concert this morning in Time Square on “Good Morning America,” and she also announced on the show that she will launch in fall a headlining North American arena tour in support of her new album, “Blown Away,” released today.

“The Blown Away Tour” will include an Oct. 25 stop at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena. Tickets for the OKC show will go on sale Friday, May 11. Ticket prices have not yet been announced.
