Memorial Weekend is just a few short days away. Whether you plan to kick-back and relax or want to have a bit of fun, there’s something for everyone this weekend.

About: The top-8 teams will compete to see who will be crowned the Big 12 Post Season Champion and will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

About: This is Edmond’s inaugural “Celebration of Rhythm, Barbeque and Blues” featuring a world-class barbeque cook-off contest officially sanctioned by the
Kansas City Barbeque Society. Also includes great musical entertainment, activities for kids, all the food and beverages you care to enjoy and a muscle car show.

About: Three fun-filled days of camping and music. This family-friendly event features a diverse array of musical styles including indie rock, world music, jazz, bluegrass, and gospel as well as a full kids’ area, swimming, fishing, boating, food and drink vendors and many other activities.

About: The rodeo includes bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and more
Where: Downtown Hobart (507 S Main, Hobart, OK)
When: Friday – Monday
About: Event includes a Patriot Parade, concert, arts on the square, crafters, performing artists, street dance, food and drink vendors, motorcycle poker run, softball and fishing tournament and much more.
5th Annual Music & Mayhem Festival
Where: Eufaula Cove Amphitheater
When: Saturday, 4:15 p.m.
About: See country star Gary Allan, along with the Randy Rogers Band and Jason Boland and the Stragglers. General admission tickets start at just $23.
Where: Route 66 (between Asbury and College, Bethany)
When: Saturday, 11: a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
About: The festival includes a classic car show and sidewalk sale and closes with a concert by Mountain Smoke in Cantrell Hall on the SNU campus at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Main (Barnsdall, OK)
When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
About: This family event includes a fishing derby, games, arts and crafts, vendor booths, live music, fireworks and a parade.
Bricktown Brawlers vs. West Texas Roughnecks
Where: Cox Convention Center (1 Myriad Gardens, OKC)
When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
About: Indoor Football game with the Bricktown Brawlers and West Texas Roughnecks. Tickets start at $15.

About: Event includes a live concert Saturday night, BBQ, kids events, Traders Market and a Fetch & Fish Tank. Enter the Hog Dog Tournament, the 3D Archery Tournament and/or the Tree Stand Hog Hunt Tournament!
Where: Carlton Landing at Lake Eufaula
When: Saturday 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.
About: The local VFW Post 8798 will raise the first flag at the new Pavilion Park. A sanctioned Regional Chili Cook-off will be one of the main attractions of the day. Also includes jump tents, face painting and local volunteers who will help the younger guests construct, decorate and fly their very own kite.

When: Saturday, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
About: Pilots from surrounding states will converge on Claremore for a pilot’s luncheon, the chance to show off their planes and to view presentations of various aircraft from the region.

About: Pioneer Day features horseshoe pitching contests, cow chip throwing contests, live music and food vendors as well as a parade honoring pioneer families and businesses in town, American Indian dancers, clowns, horses and much more.

Chuck Wagon Gathering and Children’s Cowboy Festival

Edmond Jazz and Blues Festival

About: Live Jazz & Blues bands performing the entire festival to honor our Veterans. Also includes great food, drink and entertainment for the entire family. FREE ADMISSION!

About: A showcase for the original works of visual artists selected by jury, along with performance art and live music. The festival is held in the historic Paseo Arts District.

45th Infantry Division Museum: Memorial Day Ceremony
Where: 45th Infantry Division Museum (2145 NE 36, OKC)
When: Monday, 10 a.m.
About: The ceremony pays tribute to the men and women who have served in our Nations Armed Forces and honors those who have paid the ultimate price in service to their country. The event includes a helicopter flyover, massing of the colors, patriotic music and distinguished guest speakers.

[...] Memorial Day Service & Barbeque Competition to Benefit Children of Fallen Military Heroes When: May 31st (Beginning 10:30 a.m.) Where: The Fountains at Canterbury (1404 NW 122nd St.) What: The Fountains at Canterbury will host a Memorial Day service to honor military heroes. Following the flag-raising ceremony, there will be Canterbury’s Inaugural Red River Rib Rivalry as two chefs, one from Oklahoma and one from Texas, square off in a BBQ contest. In lieu of a plate charge, $10 donations will be accepted on behalf of Snowball Express, a charity for the children of fallen military heroes. For reservations, call 751-3600.
