College Football, Labor Day Weekend Activities

I am beyond excited. College football starts this week! Anyone else as excited as I am? Moving on… if you’re not a football fan there are plenty of other events you won’t want to miss this week. Check it out and let me know what you’ve got planned.

Okay, there’s still time to catch an Oklahoma City RedHawks game this season at the Bricktown Ballpark. The team is home now through Monday, September 6 and tickets start at just $7. Can’t beat that for affordable family fun!

Seems every week has a good dose of live music and this week is no exception. Don’t miss Fireworks, The Swellers, Man Overboard and others at the Conservatory on Wednesday, The Non at Opolis in Norman, Samantha Crain at The Blue Door, Paul Eason and Whiskey Roadshow at the Wormy Dog Saloon and Smokey Robinson at Lucky Star Casino.

If you want to unwind after a long day at the office, be sure to go to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art on Thursday evenings for Cocktails on the Skyline Roof Terrace. Also, September is College Month at the OKC Museum of Art where college students get free admission all month long.

The 32nd Annual Arts Festival Oklahoma is this Saturday through Monday at Oklahoma City Community College. Here you can view and purchase original artwork and handicrafts, listen to live performances, and sample a diverse selection of foods. Another event for your calendar is the Buchanan Vintage Flea Market at State Fair Park.

It’s Labor Day weekend! Hope you get to enjoy some time off. A lot of museums are offering free admission to military and family this weekend, including the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

And for the Grand Finale: COLLEGE FOOTBALL! This Saturday, cheer on the Sooners when they host Utah State in Norman or the Cowboys in Stillwater as they take on the Washington State Cougars.

Have fun!
