The superstar pair decided they weren’t about to call it a day as a recording duo without one more chance to party with their fans, and Dunn and Brooks are ready to go out in style with their final tour, “The Last…

Things to do in Tulsa this Week

It may be cold outside, but there are a lot of events and things you’ll want to bundle up and get out of the house for!

Go see the Tulsa 66ers on Thursday night at the Convention Center for only $10 or cheer on the Tulsa Oilers this Sunday at the BOK Center for just $10 as well.

George Strait

One of the biggest concerts to come to the BOK Center is this Saturday when George Strait, Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack hit the stage. Tickets may be hard to come by, but if you can still find a ticket, go – this will be a great show.

Badfish, which is a tribute to Sublime will be at  Cain’s Ballroom this Thursday and on Sunday the Yonder Mountain Band will also hit up at Cain’s Ballroom. Tickets for both shows are available online or at the door.

Also, check out I Love You Because at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. This is a modern take on Jane Austen’s classic, Pride and Prejudice, and tickets are just $25.

Have a great week!

Things to do in Oklahoma City this week

Danny Cahill

There are a lot of events around Oklahoma City this week, including:

The Mardi Gras party at the Coca-Cola Bricktown Event Center, which starts at 4 p.m..  This is a 21 to enter kind of party and admission is free.

One of my favorite musicals of all time, The Wizard of Oz, comes to the Civic Center Music Hall. I just got tickets, and you can too, but hurry – they’re going fast.

Check out the Strong & Healthy Oklahoma health fair this Saturday at the Cox Convention Center. The event is free and open to the public and offers free H1N1 shots and health screenings and you can see The Biggest Loser winner and fellow Oklahoman, Danny Cahill, that evening.

Also at the Cox Convention Center all weekend is the Nadia Comaneci International Invitational where you have a chance to see world-famous gymnasts compete. Or, check out Play Date OKC which is at the Convention Center for only $10 on Friday.

Other cool stuff includes the Monster Jam Freestyle Mania this Friday and Saturday at the Ford Center and Henry Rollins at the Diamond Ballroom on Sunday.

Have a wonderful week!

Valentine’s Day

It seems there are a lot of mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day. Some love it, some hate it and some could care less. I tend to fall somewhere in the middle.

If you do like Valentine’s Day but don’t want to go to dinner and a movie, check out these options:

Valentine’s Day Sunset River Cruises on the Oklahoma River

Valentine’s Day Film, Dinner and Art at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Sweetheart Ball at the Cox Convention Center

Valentine’s Day Cabaret at the Harwelden

7th Annual All that Jazz Fun-draiser and Valentine Party at Hillcrest Country Club

Or, if you want an anti-Valentine’s type of Valentine’s Day, check out these events:

St. Valentine’s Day Massacre at the Coca Cola Bricktown Events Center. Sounds scary.

PBR (no, I’m not talking about Pabst Blue Ribbon). The Professional Bull Riders come to Ford Center all weekend long and nothing says anti-Valentine’s like poop. Lots and lots of poop.

Down With Love! Anti-Valentine Fest. This event is actually for 12 – 18 year olds so chances are you aren’t invited, but the name was too good to leave off this list.

Love Stinks at Iguana Mexican Grill. The name says it all.

Events in T-Town

Do Tulsa folks like when their city is referred to as “T-town”? I don’t know these things. Anyway, there’s a lot going on this week in … your area.

Cain’s Ballroom consistently has great live music and this week is no exception. On Thursday, go see the Crash Kings and Paper Tongues for just $13 or on Friday night check out the Tulsa Original Music Showcase for only $10

Tried out for American Idol but didn’t make the cut? Perhaps your not a singer but you possess quality dancing or contortionist skills. Well, whatever your talent, show off at the Talent on Parade this weekend at the Tulsa Convention Center.

Also, parents, take the kids to the Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show this Sunday at the Expo Square Pavilion. This stage spectacular features classic Disney characters in a brand new adventure with an original storyline that will delight the entire family.

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is this Sunday. Lots of events to check out including the Valentine’s Day Cabaret at the Harwelden on Sunday presented by Light Opera Oklahoma and The Sleeping Beauty at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

Other events include An Evening with Kris Kristofferson on Sunday at the Mabee Center, the Women’s Living Expo all weekend at Expo Square’s Quik Trip Center, the South Central Golf and Travel event at Expo Square, the L&L Remodel and Landscape Show at the Convention Center and the Indian Art Festival this Friday at the Spiritbank Event Center.

Have fun!

Oklahoma City Events this Week

There’s barely any snow left on the ground, so there’s no good reason to miss these events in the Oklahoma City area this week!

Go see Two Rooms this Friday and Saturday at the Civic Center Music Hall. Tickets to see this Best Play winner start at just $16. Also, check out Grammy-nominated Tiempo Libre at the Civic Center. The band is one of the hottest young Latin bands today and tickets are just $12.

Tiempo Libre

As you know, Valentine’s Day is this Sunday. There are a lot of events in support of, and some in protest against, this romantic holiday. Check out the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre on Friday night at the Coca Cola Bricktown Events Center and the Sweetheart Ball at the Cox Convention Center.

Ladies, this weekend is the popular Affair of the Heart at State Fair Park. Admission is only $6.00 for all three days of the show.  If bulls and cowboys are more your thing, you won’t want to miss the PBR this weekend at Ford Center. Tickets start at just $10 and are available at the box office.

Also, don’t miss Second Friday Circuit of Art in Norman, Love on the Plaza Friday night in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District and the family-friendly Mardi Gras Parade in Downtown Norman this Saturday evening.

Have a great week!
